Bedfordshire Invertebrate Group (BIG) is one of several special interest groups within the Bedfordshire Natural History Society (BNHS). We visit sites around Bedfordshire to record observations of invertebrates. We volunteer our time and expertise for the benefit of nature conservation.
Typically, we visit sites between April and October. Responding to requests from landowners we are able to access private land and land owned or managed by local authorities, the Ministry of Defence, Natural England, conservation charities and corporations.
Our events programme will appear here. We welcome anyone keen to help record invertebrates regardless of skill level. You don't need any equipment other than a smart phone with camera to get started with recording.
Booking is essential. Attendees must read and follow our health and safety guidelines at all times. Attendees should be aware that the sites we visit are often uneven underfoot.
